Karina Belén Hernández Almaraz, MsC

I studied Chemistry-Pharmaceutics-Biology at the Universidad Autónoma “Benito Juárez” de Oaxaca from 2012 to 2017. I started my master’s degree in Molecular Biomedicine in 2019 at Cinvestav. Subsequently, I did my master thesis in the laboratory of Dr. Michael Schnoor analyzing the intrinsic characteristics of the actin-related protein 2/3 complex inhibitor, arpin, and implications for intestinal epithelial barrier regulation. In 2021 I started working on my PhD thesis focusing on the role of arpin, in the regulation of intestinal epithelial barrier integrity and neutrophil transepithelial migration during experimental colitis.
